BlueGreen Water Technologies

BlueGreen Water Technologies was established in order to protect the world’s most precious and endangered resource – water. Most people take for granted that clean drinkable water will always be available when needed, but this is far from reality.  As aggressively toxic bacteria (cyanobacteria/algae) steadily poison the world’s water supplies, the substance that is most critical to human, animal, and plant life is diminishing fast. BlueGreen has stepped up to stem this fatal loss.

Harnessing technology to protect our waters

We use cutting-edge technologies to selectively target and eliminate harmful cyanobacteria/algae without harming other life forms or leaving any chemical trace in the water. Our treatments rehabilitate vast tracts of water within days, restoring environmental balance and biodiversity – improving health and economies, and impacting the lives of millions of people around the world.

Our water formulations are market-approved and hard-tested in multiple markets, including Israel, the United States, China, and South Africa, and are certified internationally to meet the NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 standard for drinking water.*

BlueGreen was founded by seasoned scientists who have decades of experience working at the cutting-edge of environmental science and microbiological disciplines. Adv. Eyal Harel​

CEO & Board Member

Eyal is a lawyer, entrepreneur, and investor with almost two decades of experience in technology development, transfer transactions, and global, multicultural negotiations. He is also an owner, and served as CEO, of the XinTech (BioSciences) group of companies – a boutique investment bank promoting Sino-Western technology transfer transactions and strategic collaborations in the life sciences.​ Formerly, he was Legal Counsel (in Israel) for China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation where he was involved in some of Israel’s biggest construction projects.​ Eyal holds an LLB. and a diploma in East Asia Studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Moshe Harel​

Founder, CSO & Board Member​

Dr. Harel is a serial entrepreneur with almost two decades of experience in R&D, management, and business development. Dr. Harel is currently leading the development of BlueGreen’s Lake Guard® technology from concept to product, positioning it as the first commercially-available solution to combat large-scale harmful algal blooms.​ Dr. Harel received his Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and was a postdoc at the Dept. of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX.

Dr. Oori Weisshaus​

CTO

Dr. Weisshaus has over 12 years of experience leading and performing research both in academia and industry. He led the development and commercialization of projects for several products including NRGene and Evogene (leading Israeli Genomics / Bioinformatics companies) where he deployed computational platforms to apply genomic data in crop enhancement and breeding programs. Since 2014, he has served as CTO of BlueGreen Water Technologies where he is leading the development process of a novel line of products for tackling harmful algal blooms in freshwater systems. He has led several field trials across the world managing the regulatory and IP affairs that have led to the commercialization of BlueGreen’s products.​

Sagit Cohen

CPO

Sagit is a Human Resources Management Executive, consultant, and coach with over 10 years of experience leading global HR from scratch in different fields including, venture capital, high-tech, and industrial companies. Sagit is also the founder of a Senior HR community that includes thousands of professional members. Sagit holds a BA in Education and a Coaching certification from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem as well as an MBA in International Organizational Management.

Ariel Romano

CFO

Romano is a financial professional with extensive global CFO and business development experience across several industries and a proven track record in sales and upscaling businesses. As finance director for NEC Corp., Romano led a full turnaround in territory business in record time. As CFO of Intercure (TASE and NASDAQ), Romano was pivotal to the rapid commercial and operations growth which positioned the company as a market leader. Romano also has extensive experience working in the fields of ag tech, cybersecurity, and health tech, and brings strong business understanding, operational excellence, and highest level of pragmatic risk management to the BlueGreen team.

Lucia Ross

CMO

Lucia Ross is an executive management professional with demonstrated success developing and implementing marketing strategy that optimizes program efficiencies on a global scale. She has over 25 years of staff management experience. Her broad-based expertise includes public relations, contract management, research/analysis, process improvement, educational program development, technical writing/editing for internal/external communications. She is adept at articulating strategies, performance results, and key initiatives while promoting organizational mission, values, and strengths. Her water program experience includes marketing communications, public relations and planning strategy program development within the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Homeland Security Office of Air and Marine, as well as private sector startups. Lucia has a BS in marketing and finance and an MS in environmental geography.

Oleg Tsvibel

COO

Oleg Is an Operations expert with more than a decade of experience managing operations for complex multinational corporations. Before joining BlueGreen, Oleg was a supply chain manager at Halliburton Oil & Gas — one of the world’s largest oil field service companies with operations in more than 70 countries. He has also held prestigious management roles at Nice Systems — overseeing company warehouses in Israel, India, England, and the USA — and at Chen Shmuel Chemicals in Haifa, Israel. Oleg holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Afek College and an MBA from the University of Haifa.
